what3words is revolutionising the way we communicate location by dividing the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares, and given each square a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. Now everywhere has its own address, from the side of the motorway to parking spots and remote viewpoints. The app is free to download for both iOS and Android and works entirely offline – making it ideal for use in areas of the UK with an unreliable data connection, such as rural back-roads and motorways. The app is available in 54 languages to date, including welsh, arabic, chinese and polish.

Help us to help you by following these steps-

Download: Install the what3words app (iOS or Android) on your phone.
Locate: In an emergency, open the app, wait for the blue dot to stabilize, and identify the 3-word address shown (e.g., ///filled.count.soap).
Report: Call 999 and read the three words to the operator to help them identify your exact 3m x 3m square.
Offline Capability: The app works offline, which is critical if you have a poor signal, though you will need service to make the actual call.
